Custom Commission Terms & Conditions

Commission Information

By purchasing a custom commission, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the following Terms & Conditions

Turnaround Time

The current estimated turnaround time is approximately one year from the date your commission is accepted.

While I will always communicate significant delays when possible and strive to deliver commissions ahead of schedule, all turnaround times are estimates rather than guarantees.

If your commission is needed by a specific event or deadline, please contact me before purchasing to determine whether I can accommodate your timeline.

Sizing

Clients may choose from standard dress size ranges, including but not limited to:

• 0/2–4/6

• 6/8-10/12

• 12/14-16/18

It is the client's responsibility to select the correct size. If measurements or sizing information are requested, they must be accurate. Smoky Mountain Costume Company is not responsible for fit issues resulting from incorrect measurements or size selection.

Minor alterations after delivery are the responsibility of the client.

Payment

Payment is due up front unless otherwise noted.

If a payment plan has been approved, all scheduled payments must be made on time. Failure to make payments may result in your commission being paused until payment is received or cancelled entirely.

Completed commissions will not be shipped until the balance has been paid in full.

Design Changes

Please review your order carefully before purchasing.

Once work has begun, major design changes—including changing the character, style, size, or significant design elements are not possible.

If a requested change can be accommodated after work has started, additional fees may apply based on the materials and labor required to make said changes.

Progress Updates

Due to my workload, I am unable to provide frequent progress photos or weekly updates, however I will always do my best to communicate updates periodically

Clients are always welcome to politely check in on the status of their commission.

Client Communication

Clients are responsible for responding to requests for information, measurements, approvals, or other necessary communication in a timely manner.

If I am unable to proceed because I have not received the information I need, your turnaround time may be extended accordingly and your commission will be pushed behind others that are communicating in a timely manner.

Cancellations & Refunds

Because every commission is custom-made, all sales are final.

Once materials have been purchased or work has begun, cancellations, returns, and refunds are not available except where required by applicable law.

If you experience unexpected financial hardship, please contact Smoky Mountain Costume Company on our Facebook page via messenger. While refunds cannot be guaranteed, I am happy to discuss possible solutions on a case-by-case basis whenever possible.

If I must cancel your commission before completion for any reason, you will receive an appropriate refund based on the amount of work completed.

Shipping

Once your order has shipped, responsibility for the package transfers to the shipping carrier.

If a package is delayed, lost, stolen, or damaged during transit, the client is responsible for working with the shipping carrier to file any necessary claims.

Shipping insurance is available upon request for an additional fee and is strongly recommended for high-value pieces.

The client is responsible for providing the correct shipping address. Smoky Mountain Costume Company is not responsible for packages shipped to an incorrect address provided by the client.

Returns & Repairs

Due to the custom nature of each commission, returns and exchanges are not accepted.

If your commission arrives with a defect related to workmanship, please contact Smoky Mountain Costume Company within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the issue.

Repair, replacement, or other resolutions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Damage caused by improper wear, alterations, accidents, normal wear and tear, or incorrect storage is not covered.

Intellectual Property & Usage

Smoky Mountain Costume Company retains all rights to the original patterns, construction methods, photographs, and promotional images of commissioned work.

Commissions and custom fabrics may not be copied, commercially reproduced, or mass manufactured without written permission.

Smoky Mountain Costume Company reserves the right to photograph completed commissions and use those images for portfolios, social media, websites, conventions, advertising, and other promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing before production begins.

Handmade Nature

Each gown is individually handmade. Minor variations in fabric placement, trims, embellishments, color shades, and construction are normal and make each piece unique.

These small variations are not considered defects.

Agreement

By purchasing a commission from Smoky Mountain Costume Company, the client confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
